Dear Pledger,

Dear Influencer,If you were given a choice between spending your money on a consumable (clothes, accessories, gadgets etc) or spending your money on gifting a life, which one would you choose? According to the International Diabetes Federation, India has the largest number of people livingwith Type 1 Diabetes, an autoimmune condition wherein the pancreas stops producing Insulin. Insulin is a hormone which converts Glucose into energy for your body to function. Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is diagnosed primarily in children & is a lifelong condition requiring regular doses of Insulin and regular blood sugar tests. Without these, a person with T1D can develop serious complications and in severe cases can lose their life. Yet, today many families are unable to afford even the most basic Insulin and blood sugar test strips for their child. Follow-up with doctors and bodily check ups barely find a place in their struggle for survival. To address this situation, The Diabesties Foundation has launched a project named Mishti, which is a Bengali word for sweet.

Mishti – Pledge Insulin, Gift A Life

The goal of the project is to consolidate financial and emotional support for a child with Type 1 Diabetes. This will work three way or the trinity as we call it.Donor (pledge financial support for 3 years at least) + Diabesties (pledge T1D Management education) + Person with T1D (pledge to follow-up regularly & get check up reports) = Long and quality life.

Should you choose to pledge the basic supplies to a child with T1D, you’d have given not only the child a future but India a future too. Your donation combined with our education & support for the child will also bring us together as a society for the greater good. In the hopes that you will find this cause worth your while, we look forward to introducing you to our sweet family.
