The Roots that Nurture Our Community

“Neev” meaning Root in Hindi, is the place where we lay the foundation of all our projects, it is the backbone that fuels our work on the front lines. More importantly, it serves as a non clinical safe space where we blend lived experience with professional expertise fuelling community-wide empowerment, laying strong foundations of knowledge, and transforming lives.

The Challenges That We Address

In India, doctors play a vital role in managing the care of people with Type 1 Diabetes, but the demands of busy clinical settings can sometimes limit the time spent with each patient.

Rural Health Communication

This can create challenges, particularly for those in rural areas, where patients often view doctors with great reverence, making them hesitant to ask important questions.

Financial Care Obstacles

Financial hurdles such as transportation costs and potential lost wages can make it difficult for patients to seek timely care.

Navigating Clinic Anxiety

For families with young children, the stress of managing a child’s emotions can get exacerbated in a typical “clinical” scenario.

What We Offer At Neev

Neev is run by a team of Certified Diabetes Educators, Nurses, Physicians, Psychologists, and Dietitians and is a hub for the following activities:

Distribution of Insulin & Supplies for the Mishti Program.

Monthly workshops, expert sessions, and peer support for the community.

Non-educational engagements that provide a platform for shared experiences.

In-person peer-counselling and education sessions.
